Musician and Speaker: Joe Jencks
Service Leader: Rev. Victoria Ingram
Joe invites us to share a portion of his life journey as he puts a very personal spin on issues related to social justice. Sharing personal stories in music and words, Joe draws from over 20 decades on the road as an international touring musician and UU troubadour. You’ll hear about his experiences and perspectives on labour organizing, PRIDE, and international diplomacy along with vignettes from the life of a musician devoted to spiritual exploration and social consciousness. He’ll address about what he’s learned about change and growth, in ourselves and for our communities.
Joe has been with First Unitarian Hamilton before, both as a solo musician and as part of the musical trio, Brother Sun. Whenever he performs, audiences get not only the gift of his musical talent and beauty, they also get moments of spiritual reflection and heart-centered consciousness. Joe is a master instrumentalist, vocalist, and songwriter whose every performance is filled with heart, soul, and grit.
