  • Mindfulness Mondays

    In response to these trying times, and those who have requested an opportunity for quiet reflection together, First Unitarian Church of Hamilton offers mindful practice with the newly formed Insight Meditation Group. Starting Monday, February 12th, 2:00-3:30 p.m. and continuing every second and fourth Mondays through to the end of May. These sessions will be led by Melanie Schwindt (she/her), who is a graduate of the University of California’s Greater Good and Science Department at Berkley. As a certified mindfulness instructor, speaker, and coach with a background in early childhood education, suicide prevention, and corporate sales management, Melanie has a unique understanding of how mindfulness and insight meditation can enrich the well-being of individuals from all walks of life. An instructor at Mindfulness Hamilton, Melanie strives to meet people where they are, physically, emotionally, and mentally, offering tools and practices that can assist them navigate the challenges we all experience in life. Mindfulness Mondays – 45 minutes in length, will meet in the sanctuary and will provide a time of guided gentle movement, meditation, quiet reflection and an opportunity for group discussion. Chairs will be provided.  Should you prefer to sit on the floor, please bring your own meditation cushion, yoga mat or blanket.
