“The Heart of Lay Chaplaincy”
Unitarian congregations in Canada have the unique right to choose, form and inspire ordinary
members to become designers and officiants of Rites of Passage. UU Lay Chaplains are legally
accredited to perform weddings, and personally and spiritually prepared to lead other
recognitions of life transition as well. Today we’ll hear about what has drawn one of our Lay
Chaplains to do this work and what spiritual rewards have come from it.
