At this service–situated in the middle of Transgender Awareness Week (November 13-19)–we will dedicate ourselves to increasing our understanding of the lived experience of transgender people. In anticipation of the Transgender Day of Remembrance (November 20), transgender members of the First Hamilton community will read the names of Canadian and American victims of anti-trans violence and will give testament to their own lived experience. And engaging a “give them their flowers” approach to rituals of remembrance, we will honour Glenn Copeland: a transgender elder in our midst.
This service will be led by Rev. Danie Webber and Beverly Horton.
