“Melanie McAulay, Executive Director along with the Board of Directors and Staff of Sacajawea Non- Profit Housing Inc. would like to express their sincere gratitude to The First Unitarian Church of Hamilton for their continuous and generous support to Sacajawea.
“The church has hosted multiple fundraisers with Sacajawea being the lead recipient. With The First Unitarian Church of Hamilton’s donations, we were able to complete our community room located at Onkwanonhsa – Ezhi-Mina-Giweng (Our House A Place To Come Home To), add the beautiful signage and a window wrap in the community room front window.”
Sacajawea was also “able to give our tenants a worry-free Christmas meal and toys, as well as support new tenants and Sacajawea’s move to our new beautiful office at The Oaks, Ain-dah-ing building.”
The letter specifically mentioned Bill Johnston’s support for Sacajawea, including speaking for Sacajawea at 100 Men meetings, which resulted in another $8,000 donated to support their tenants directly. Bill responded to the letter, emphasizing that he is the public face of a lot of generous donors in our congregation committed to Sacajawea’s growing ability to provide affordable housing to Indigenous people.
