Celebrate the Founding of Hamilton’s Newest Housing Co-op on November 2

One of the bright spots amid Hamilton’s housing crisis has been the creation of the Caroline Street Housing Co-operative. When residents of an older 21-unit apartment building learned it was for sale, they managed to negotiate to buy their own building to save its affordable rents and create a tenant-managed co-op. Learn more on Saturday November 2, 3-4:30 pm, in the Fellowship Hall, Central Presbyterian Church (165 Charlton Avenue West). Come hear speeches from members of co-op, as well as its partners: Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada, Golden Horseshoe Co-operative Housing Federation, City of Hamilton, New Market Funds, and First Ontario Credit Union. Ribbon cutting and photos at 272 Caroline St S will follow the main program (weather permitting). RSVP by October 26 by completing the Eventbrite registration form: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/caroline-co-op-founding-celebration-tickets-1039485327597?aff=oddtdtcreator
