Each year, we donate the offering at our Christmas Eve service to a local charity. Sacajawea Non-Profit Housing will be this year’s recipient. Sacajawea will soon be operating four times the number of units it had in 2016 when our congregation first started working with them. Sacajawea began construction in September on a 40-unit supportive housing project on Gage North (drawing at right) and will soon begin a 30-unit project just up the street at 195 Dundurn South. Our donations help pay for furnishings or equipment not covered by government grants. Donations can be made on Christmas Eve by cash or cheque made out to the First Unitarian Church of Hamilton, with Sacajawea in the memo. Donations can also be made online, in advance or even after Christmas, again with a memo that the money is for Sacajawea. Your generosity helps Sacajawea in its mission to provide badly needed homes for Indigenous Hamiltonians.
