By the time you read this, the first cabin for people experiencing homelessness will have arrived in Hamilton. The demonstration cabin will be in front of the Anglican Cathedral on James Street North. Take a look when you are next downtown.
Meanwhile, the HATS team continues to search for a site for the first 10 to 20 cabins, continues its consultations with service providers, potential volunteers and people experiencing homelessness now (we’ve talked to more than two dozen to get their ideas on who should live in the cabins and how the site should operate), and we’re researching best practices with existing cabin communities.
