The Eighth Principle Team (8P) had changed their name to Dismantling Barriers. The new name helps people better understand the nature of our work and aligns with the CUC’s national program name.
Dismantling Barriers is now co-lead by Monica Bennett and Beverly Horton. Many thanks to Monica and Beverly for their leadership.
Team responsibilities are to act as a resource to the Board and to the Congregation related to issues of race, diversity, equity, inclusion, and oppression, and to provide training and resources to the congregation and/or the wider community.
Priorities for this year include:
- November’s “Cafe 8” – a lunch and discussion where we looked at our unconscious biases and bolstered our skills to dismantle racism
- a Palestinian Blanket Exercise workshop on the morning of Saturday 28 February
- an All Church Read this spring
