Donating using Interac e-Transfer

Whether you have made a pledge or not, Interac e-Transfers are the cheapest and easiest way to make a donation in support of the church’s day-to-day operations.

Dollar Limits

There are dollar limits set by Interac that might require you to break a large donation into multiple smaller donations.   Current limits imposed by Interac are:

• Per transfer: $3,000
• 24 hours: $3,000
• 7 days: $10,000
• 30 days: $20,000

Individual customers/banks may have different limits.

Recurring and/or Future-dated transfers

Many financial institutions now support recurring e-Transfers (and future-dated transfers) which is really handy.  Some are stuck on just doing single e-Transfers under the current date.  You will discover which your institution supports when you log into your online account at your financial institution.

Set up the church as a Contact/Payee

Create a new contact/payee for your donation(s) to the church.  You only need to do this once.

• Log into your personal bank account with your financial institution
• Select Interac e-Transfer
• Click on Add Contact/Payee:
  • Enter a name that is meaningful to you for the contact/payee name
  • Enter operatingdonations@uuhamilton.ca as the email address for the new contact/payee.

Make a Donation

To make sure we process your donation correctly, in the Message field for your e-Transfer be sure to include: Envelope #, Pledge Year where:

• Your Envelope # is no such field.  If your envelope number does not appear here, then please contact the Support Services Manager to have one assigned.
• Pledge Year is either the current year or next year if you are donating early against your next year pledge

Note: Neither the security question nor the security response is required because the church has established Autodeposit for transfers made to operatingdonations@uuhamilton.ca
