Each year at the Christmas Eve service, the offering goes to a charity chosen by the Social Justice Team. This year’s will go to our housing partner, Sacajawea Non-Profit Housing’, to buy appliances for their latest project, turning the old Pearl Company on Steven Street into affordable homes for Indigenous Hamiltonians.
1 – If you attend a service in person at 10:30 am or 7:00 pm, put cash or cheque made out to First Unitarian Church in an envelope clearly marked for “Sacajawea Christmas Eve” in the offering plate.
2 – Cheque made out to First Unitarian Hamilton with Sacajawea Christmas Eve in the memo field put in the Social Justice mail slot in the foyer.
3 – You can send an e-transfer to the Operations Account with a note designating it for the social justice fund and the Sacajawea Christmas Eve funds.
Here’s how to do an e-transfer to the church:
- Log into your personal bank account with your financial institution
- Select Interac e-Transfer
- Click on Add Contact/Payee:
- Enter a name for the church such as “UUHamilton”.
- Enter operatingdonations@
uuhamilton.ca as the email address for the new contact/payee. - Enter the amount of your donation.
- Make a note that the donation is for the social justice fund and the Sacajawwea Christmas eve fund.
- Complete the transaction by sending the transfer.
