The Case for Co-ops: How Co-operative Housing Can Help Solve Hamilton’s Housing Affordability Crisis. Representatives from two local housing co-operatives, Halam Park and Corktown, and from the Golden Horseshoe Co-operative Housing Federation will take part in the discussion.
Rental co-ops reduce housing costs by taking the profit out of development. They provide mixed-income communities in which people manage their own affairs. Several local co-ops are ready to expand to make more units available.
