Full House this past Sunday at the Queer Joy Potluck.

Queer joy is a positive feeling that we get from encountering signs of progress in gender equality and gender diversity. Source: https://www.oxfam.org/en/queer-joy

On Sunday April 16/23 we came together for a Queer Joy Potluck.

Here is what we learned:

  • We want to do social things – we want to learn more about you and your family and things you like to do.
  • We want to plan outings – but in a kind of casual way- we all have diverse interests. Some ideas mentioned were – a pool party, music events, art crawl, bowling, games night, drumming.  Let us know what you would be interested in doing together.
  • It would be great to have a greeter that was part of the Welcoming- Gender and Sexual Justice Focus area.  How do we know who actually identifies within the 2S LGBTQ+ community? People liked the idea that we could all sit together in the sanctuary.
  • Have a monthly potluck – it is looking like the 3rd Sunday of the month is a good day to do it.  The next potlucks will be May 21(long weekend) and June 11 (after the Pride Service)
  • It was great to have a room full of people to talk about what was important to them in our congregation, we look forward to inviting you to join us next month!

Next Queer Joy Potluck – after the service on Sunday May 21/23.
All LGBTQ2SIA+ members and allies are welcome.
