Carolinian Wildlife Garden

Our mission: Creating Habitat for Wildlife

The church gardens encompass about one hectare of the church property.  Over the last ten years, the land has gradually been restored to fertile and productive gardens.  With the help of grants from the World Wildlife Federation and TD Friends of the Environment, soils have been restored, eroding areas shored up, invasive species removed, rocks and other non-living elements (abiotics) introduced plus hundreds of Carolinian zone trees and perennials planted.  Each year, we see more native birds, butterflies and other Carolinian species coming to our gardens.

Educating the community about Carolinian gardening is an important part of our mission.  We provide Free Workshops and Garden Tours and the occasional Native Plant Sale We are supported by numerous local native plant growers listed under the Resources tab.

The church gardens are open for the public to enjoy.  Many plants are labelled.  Come take a stroll, relax and enjoy.
