The City of Hamilton is finally consulting the public and other stakeholders on the drafts of Hamilton’s Community Energy and Emissions Plan (CEEP) and the Climate Change Impact Adaptation Plan (CCIAP) which together make up the City of Hamilton’s Climate Change Action Strategy. The public release of this draft strategy is long overdue; more than 3 years have passed since the city declared the CLIMATE EMERGENCY back in March of 2019!
Last week, Environment Hamilton and Hamilton 350 co-hosted a webinar to provide community members with an overview of the city’s draft Climate Change Action Strategy that highlighted our views on the strengths and weaknesses of the strategy. If you missed the webinar, you can CLICK HERE to view it on Environment Hamilton’s YouTube channel.
The coming weeks are critical as City of Hamilton staff consult with community members about the draft Climate Change Action Strategy. We have created an Action Sheet, coming out of our webinar last week, to help community members get engaged in providing feedback to the city on the draft plan. CLICK HERE to access our Action Sheet.
We also urge you to register for the City of Hamilton’s June 29th Virtual Information Meeting, where you can hear more from city staff about the draft strategy and share your views on the city’s proposed pathway forward for making climate resilience a reality in our community!
