You can help Sacajawea Non-Profit Housing equip its newest Indigenous homes
You may recognize the building in this photo as the old Pearl Company on Steven Street, a former factory that became a delightful entertainment venue from 2006 until 2020 when it was sold. Now, our housing partner, Sacajawea Non-Profit Housing, is converting it into 17 units of affordable housing for Indigenous Hamiltonians. And you can help make it home for its new residents.
Each year, our Christmas Eve offering goes to a charity chosen by our Social Justice Team. This year’s will go to Sacajawea to help it buy the fridges, stoves and dish washers their residents will need. Every dollar will help.
You can donate in person at the Christmas Eve service or in advance. Email housing@uuhamilton.ca and we’ll arrange for your tax-receipted donation. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
