Hamilton is ready to move on solutions to our housing crisis. Join experts, advocates and community members to discuss the latest municipal and federal developments and the opportunities to meaningfully address the city’s crisis. Brought to you by our Affordable Housing Team at the First Unitarian Church of Hamilton (with support from St. Paul’s United, Dundas), and partners the Hamilton Is Home Coalition, and the Hamilton Community Benefits Network. There will be presentations and then small group discussions to gather feedback and ideas on how best to advocate for what the city needs to tackle the housing crisis.

The city is now providing capital funding and land for affordable housing. The Hamilton Is Home Coalition, which brings together the city’s major non-profit housing providers, is ready to build more than 1,000 units of affordable and supportive housing in the next 18 months. The Hamilton Community Benefits Network exists to ensure major infrastructure projects like the LRT produce the maximum benefits possible, including affordable housing opportunities. With federal and provincial partners, progress is finally possible.
