Indigenous Book Study Group

This group sponsors very interesting webinars and study sessions.  Their Indigenous Book Study (please see attached schedule of forthcoming books to be discussed) is open to all.   Their November book (already discussed), Up Ghost River, is well worth a read.  Next Gathering is Monday, February 5. Book is: Life in the City of Dirty Water: A Memoir of Healing by Clayton Thomas-Muller. Please note that to receive the links for the book study group, you have to register at concernedlaycatholics@gmail.com
.
In addition, to the book study group, the CLC group sends this message. Our website (https://concernedlaycatholics.ca) is a valuable resource for all of us as we journey through the Synodal process with Pope Francis and each other and we learn about the history of the Catholic church and Indigenous Peoples in Canada with a view to understanding how we may walk together toward reconciliation.
.
A note from Pat Dickinson: A current book, a true story about an indigenous and non-indigenous community in Manitoba coming together is a MUST read for anyone interested in indigenous issues. It is called Valley of the Birdtail: An Indian Reserve, a White Town and the Road to Reconciliation and is available at the Hamilton Public Library.
