The Clothing Room at Eva Rothwell is thriving and helping to ease the burden of poverty for Hamilton residents. On average 150 clients access the Clothing Room during the 8 hours it is open each week (Tues., Thur., 10-12 am, 3-5 pm). We have a wonderful group of volunteers, but we need more! Here are some opportunities that might interest you:
- Cashiering during one of the Clothing Room shifts identified above. This requires some familiarity with the EXCEL computer program.
- Unpacking and sorting clothes when the Clothing Room isn’t officially open. Our greatest need is Wed. am or pm (flexible hours), but this also happens on Monday mornings. This is a great volunteer opportunity for individuals who like finding the treasures that have been donated to Eva Rothwell (some really wonderful clothing) but may not be available or interested in working when the Clothing Room is actually open.
Some of our volunteers pair up so that they come twice a month rather than weekly. We also welcome volunteers who would be ‘on call’ if some of our regular volunteers are unavailable. If you would like to know more about any of these opportunities, please contact Pat Dickinson or Martin Dooley.
