A new Hamilton committee tasked with tackling climate change will begin offering advice to city officials on the global existential crisis early next year. We are very pleased to announce that Mary Ellen Scanlon, First Hamilton UU congregant and co-chair of the Climate Action Team has been selected to be a committee member. Mary Ellen has a strong background in environmental progress indicators, a priority project this year. Congratulations, Mary Ellen!
The 23 members, plus staff, will advise staff and council on initiatives laid out in the city’s climate action strategy, overseen by a recently established four-person office dedicated to the issues.
