Jennie Koops
Jennie’s story begins in the quiet beauty of Muskoka, where her Christian upbringing planted seeds of faith, reflection, and curiosity. She completed a BA in Intercultural Studies at Providence College in Manitoba, and in her early twenties, spent a few life-changing years living in Japan and Uganda. Working with children has always been a source of joy and purpose in her life. In 2023, Jennie completed a Master of Psycho-Spiritual Studies at Emmanuel College in Toronto. The following year, she moved to Hamilton to make a home for herself and her daughter—a place where her spiritual and clinical paths found new integration.
Jennie’s passion for supporting children grew into a calling to walk alongside families in their mental health journeys, guided by the belief that communities thrive when families are well. Her work now centers on holistic family care, with a focus on spiritual growth and inclusive, community-rooted support. Her own faith has been reshaped through years of questioning, unlearning, and reimagining. What emerged is a spirituality rooted in love, justice, and openness to difference—values that guide her practice and honor the sacredness of each person’s journey.
When she’s not working, Jennie loves swimming, curling up with a good book, and playing board games. This summer, she and her daughter are especially excited to explore Hamilton’s many waterfalls.
