Recognizing Truth and Reconciliation Day 2025

Plan a special family outing in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

FRI., SEPT. 26th and SAT., SEPT. 27th
The Fourth Annual Truth and Reconciliation Gathering takes place over two days and includes keynote speakers, pow wow dancers, drumming, youth lacrosse games, and educational opportunities. Craft and food vendors, plus children’s activities, are on site. Raffles and more! Gage Park Bandshell. Bring your lawn chairs. Both days kick off at 11 a.m.

TUES., SEPT. 30th 
The community is invited to a day of ceremony and teaching to mark the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Join elders, survivors, and neighbours remembering and honouring survivors of residential schools, their families, and the children who never returned home. It is an opportunity for all to learn, reflect, and take meaningful steps on the path to reconciliation.

Afternoon Gathering – 1-4 p.m.

September 30, 10am
The Woodland Cultural Centre (WCC) in Brantford, ON, is announcing the official reopening of Mohawk Institute Residential School as an interpretive historic site and educational resource. The transformation takes place Sept. 30, on Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, marking a “significant step toward truth-telling, education, remembrance, and reconciliation.”
