Report on federal budget measures for affordable housing and homelessness

Summary: Despite some good news for affordable housing, this year’s federal budget, introduced by Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland, is disappointing for those hoping for major investments to tackle the ongoing affordable housing crisis. Most significantly, the projected impacts of the budget on housing are small: 4,500 more new affordable houses built and about 30,000 more affordable units repaired. That still leaves out two-thirds of the 1.6 million Canadian households that are in core housing.  CLICK HERE for the full report.
