Tuesday May 2, 2023 was the official opening of the latest Sacajawea-Indwell collaboration. A former tavern at 180 Ottawa Street N. has been converted into 12 affordable housing units upstairs, all occupied, to be managed by Sacajawea and the Hamilton Regional Indian Centre just up the street, plus a café on the main floor with a beautiful Indigenous painting of human and animal community. Paula Bourner of our Affordable Housing Team, which continues to support Sacajawea, was present for the event.
