Sacajawea is planning two new housing projects.
- One is just across the street from our church, at 95 Dundurn South, a small property that slopes down to Jackson Street. Student housing is planned for that site.
- The other is a big leap for Sacajawea, a 40-unit project on Gage North. It will provide badly needed affordable units and Sacajawea hopes for funding for health and other supports for people with high needs, a desperate need if the city is to make progress on ending homelessness.
When our church began fundraising for Sacajawea in 2016, it operated about two dozen single family homes and a six-plex apartment. It now has three more buildings with 12, 13, and 23 units and has begun construction on a 17-unit project at Steven Street and King William.
