The City of Hamilton Unveils its Plan for Investments in Affordable Housing and Ending Homelessness

A new city plan for housing and homelessness investments, unveiled yesterday (April 19), calls for annual programs of action. Much of the first year is focused on getting a new Housing Secretariat up and running to coordinate action across city departments to speed developments. The only numerical goal for the first year is to get 350 units of moderately affordable market rental built. This is a refinement of the existing goal of 510 new market rental units a year and separate from another existing goal of building 350 new units of affordable housing each year.
