The Hamilton Alliance for Tiny Shelters (HATS) hopes to have cabins on the ground this winter to provide safe, warm shelter, belonging and services to people experiencing homelessness. The costs of the cabins are vastly cheaper than building new housing but there are staffing and other ongoing costs. HATS will only be able to launch if it raises several hundred thousand dollars from generous donors, granting agencies and governments in the next few months.
