The tiny cabin that’s been in our church parking lot will finally be used!
The Hamilton Alliance for Tiny Shelters (H.A.T.S.) has approval to proceed from city council. In a 10-6 vote on Monday August 14, 2023, Hamilton City council endorsed a staff recommendation for a two-year pilot project for a tiny cabin village of 25 units, plus washrooms, kitchen and common space. Also approved was staff’s proposed location, on the south side of Strachan Street east of Hughson. HATS’ goal is to have a village with at least 12 units ready for occupancy by the start of winter.
