The Hamilton Alliance for Tiny Shelters is holding an open house and media day at its demonstration cabin on Friday April 1 2022 from 10:00am to noon, in front of the Anglican Cathedral on James S. North, Hamilton.
The HATS team will be on hand and the cabin, which is normally locked, will be open and furnished, so you can see how 80 square feet of private shelter space looks.
HATS continues to search for a property to launch its program. It is pulling together a fundraising team and is delighted to have received a $24,000 United Way grant that builds our credibility and funds a staff person—a former site manager at Kitchener’s Better Tent City—to lead our work from now until we can launch a village community.
We are connecting with cabin villages across Canada and learned this week of London, Ontario’s success with two winters of cabins.
