What’s Behind the Affordable Housing Crisis?

Since 1998 in Ontario, there are no limits on how much landlords can raise rents on rent-controlled units when a tenant moves out. That allows huge increases but also gives landlords a huge incentive to get longstanding tenants in affordable rent-controlled units to move out. More on this on November 15!
