Ricardo Tranjan of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives, is creating a lot of discussion among housing activists with his book, The Tenant Class. He will be at The Casbah, 306 King Street West, Hamilton, on June 8th for the Hamilton launch of the book. His remarks will be followed by a panel of local tenant activists. Tenants have half the income of owners and are struggling with soaring rents. Tranjan views them as a class exploited by the for-profit housing system. He focuses on the history and current examples of tenant organizing.
