Maclean’s Magazine Highlights Hamilton’s Efforts to Protect Tenants

They rose a lot but not that much. Rentals.ca reports show average one-bedroom rents in vacant units in Hamilton rose from $1,158 to $1,825 or 58%. Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation reported the average rent for all one-bedroom units in the old city of Hamilton rose from $958 to $1,315, 37%. In Nann’s area, which has the cheapest rents, the average one bedroom went from $825 to $1,174, up 42%.
