In 2024 First Unitarian Church of Hamilton applied to the Unitarian Universalist Association’s (UUA) Green Sanctuary 2030 program and joined a network of UU congregations across North America. The goal of the program is to actively support each other in our climate ministries through collective learning about climate action and sharing our lessons learned.
Recently we learned that our congregation has been recognized by the UUA for our climate action activities and events during 2025.
The recognition was for these congregational initiatives and collaborations:
- Climate Cafe
- Eva Rothwell Clothing Shop
- Homeshare Economy event
- Native Plant Fair
- Plant Based Cookbook
- Regular climate articles in the ACE our weekly church e-announcements
To learn more about Green Sanctuary 2030 and other climate activities please join us on March 29. Details below.
